“Where will the preachers come from?” It’s a question many, including us, are asking. LBC is starting a new program to try to help address the concern. The one-year program will be offered over two years on weekends through our 1-2 hour modules (Friday [5:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.] and Saturday [8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.]). These preaching modules will be very practical along with the counseling ones supplementing them.
The second hour may be earned through additional outside work. The schedule will allow students to come on one weekend a month even if they live a distance, stay at home, keep their job, and be able to afford tuition. (Graduate $87, Undergrad $77, Audit $37). There will be two tracks: Master of Sacred Literature (for those who have a bachelor’s degree) and a Certificate of Christian Leadership (for those who do not).
Although most in-class work will be the same, outside will not. Assignments will be given on the basis: 2 hours-graduate, 1 hour-graduate, 2 hours- undergraduate and 1 hour-undergraduate.
Those who have expressed an interest in teaching are aware that our teachers do not receive any salary. They do so because they desire to educate others for the ministry as a part of their ministry. We are trying to offer a little help with expenses.
Those whom we are asking to teach come from ten different states and include: Dr.’s Dale Bertram and Mark Hahlen (TX); Dr. Jerry Mattingly (TN); Dr.’s Guthrie Veech and Tom LaHue (FL); Rowlie Hutton (NE); John Seitz (IA); Terry Sweeney (CA); Tony Sullivan (GA); Dr. Terry Peer, Andrew Paris and Kerry Allen (OH); Dr.’s Danny Gabbard and Mike Frances, Matthew Sullivan and Terry Kemp (IN); Dr.’s Jason Anderson and Tom Mobley, Gary Fenner, Joe Hatchett and Larry Oetzel (KY).
